Tonight marks the first Sunday without a new episode of BBC1’s Line of Duty, and I’m still not sure how I’m going to make it through the evening. I feel like I’ve aged about five years per episode as a result of the tension, but the experience of tuning in weekly to the nail-biting show reminded me of an old hobby I had pretty much given up: actually watching TV. By “actually watching TV”, I’m referring to the experience of watching a show at the time it airs, with my family, while texting my best friend and eating Snack a Jacks.
